Live Search : Book search winding down

in other words, this wasn’t going to make you tons of money, and doing good has no meaning to your bottom line, so fuck it all, let some other “idiot” spend their time and money doing this so we can get back to not delivering quality products at a fair price to the world. I wonder if Gates agrees with this decision? I would like to see what % these individuals give to humanitarian causes/charity every year, and how much more they will give now that they have decided that they are not going to do good in this avenue. Me, a poor person, probably gives a higher % than most of the gimme-boys at MS. Stupid is as stupid does.

unless I get a signed contract into the house soon, it is going to be very tight times here. might even have to go get a part-time job somewhere. uggh

I just got a new request to join the mailing list of web designers I run. In the “application” I ask them to tell me a bit about themselves, and why they want to join the list. I get one today, it’s their sales pitch/directory listing spiel. I write back to please re-read the form and tell me about them and their company, and why they want to join. This one comes back with “I think that I have very insightful and valuable knowledge that your members could benefit from. I think I can help them to be better designers.”
Meantime I have gone to her web site. and to her portfolio. Tables and font tags, and beveled words on huge graphics and FRONTPAGE bots and just really really horrible code, javascript a mile long on the page, on and on. All the things that MAYBE were OK in 1998, but she must be stuck in a time warp. Bad is not even close. And she has “valuable, insightful knowledge” I don’t thinks so lady. Bye bye. Can’t read OR design. Oh, and the spelling? was real bad, yet located in New Hampshire. She ain’t a “feriner”

I mean, really, this is a “fad”?

The main reason why FrankelBiz doesn’t get as much activity as it once did is due to the disctraction of better-funded-but-less productive “social networking” sites that do little more than waste people’s time.

FrankelBiz continues to provide real business results, which is why I’d like to see more FrankelBees jump in. We still get great participation on Monday morning Free Clinic chats.

This is not the first time we’ve seen a misguided fad like social networking displace Frankelbiz from the minds of people. Don’t get me wrong, social networking is great for social purposes, but I have yet to see anyone who can demonstrate the business ROI from it. When FrankelBees do business, you see real action.

That’s not my opinion, it’s real fact!

My question to Rob is “have you honestly engaged in social networking? ” If you did, and you have this “fact” then maybe it was “how” you engaged in it. It is a different animal than regular networking. It is all about the customer, not about YOU. Please, don’t state as fact that social networking does not produce business just because it did not produce for you and your “old” way of marketing. Limited views of things produce stagnation, and that is WHY social networking has taken off. You have the WRONG definition of “social” dear. It’s all about community dear. That is “social”.

when I picked up Laur yesterday from ultrasound appt, she said that doc says it is a cyst of sorts, unorganized, and benign, cancer is usually organized. so, that was such a huge relief for me. It’s been forefront on my mind for the past 3 weeks and I’ve not been able to really concentrate on things at hand, like work. Says she probably injured her pectoral muscle, and it caused this tear/scar tissue. The “cyct” seems old, and it should with time go away. wants to see her in 6 months for another checkup, unless she feels it getting larger.

man… whew!
